When your home is listed, the agent will ask you for a key to put in the lockbox. This will help other agents be able to get into your home for showings. Buyers will not have access to the lockbox where the key is stored so they can not come and go as they please.
Once your home is sold and closing day arrives, it's time to turn in your keys. We ask that the sellers leave their keys and garage door openers in a drawer in the kitchen or on the counter. This is so the new homeowners can find them when they walk into their new home. The buyer’s agent will take the key from the lockbox to give to the buyer at the time of signing papers.
Following these helpful tips will help ensure a smooth process for showings and getting the keys to the new owners.
